Alternatively, you can choose an authenticator app as another 2FA option. Please note that, presently, you can choose only one of the two options.

Step-by-Step Guide

How to activate 2FA via an authenticator app (recommended) on your Sagefx Account:

  • Click Settings.

  • Click on the Toggle icon (on your right-hand side).

  • You will see a window asking you to disable the current 2FA via email.

  • Get the code from the email you’ll receive and paste it in the blank spaces.

  • Using the authenticator app, scan the QR code that will be displayed.

  • Enter the code that will be displayed in the authenticator app.

  • Click Submit.

To disable any of the authentication options, click on the toggle icon against each one and enter the code you’ll receive either on the app or on email, depending on your authentication option. But remember, for your security, it is highly recommended to have at least one of them enabled.

This method is a secure way to regain access to your account.

To disable your 2FA, please follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your account using your login details.
  2. On the 2FA page, click on “Unable to access your authentication code”.
  3. A new window will pop up where you will be asked to take a selfie. Please follow the instructions on the screen.
  4. Once you complete the selfie process, you will be able to log in to your account without using 2FA.

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER!

Once you access your account, you will be prompted to enable your 2FA. Until then, your account will have limited functionality.

  1. Login to https://sagefx.com/ 
  2. Tap “Settings”
  3. Enter your phone number. You do not need to enter the first 2 digits (00) or the “+” sign as you can see below. We have used the UK country code (0044) as an example.
  4. Tap “Update or verify”

 

 

You will now receive a text message to your phone number with a 6 digit code. 

To complete the process, please enter the code and click “Verify” or if you did not get the code you can resend the code every 20 seconds. 

If you have entered your number correctly and still do not receive the code, please switch your phone off and on again.

  • In order to set this up, you will need a Two-Factor Authentication app (2FA). For this demonstration, we are using Google Authenticator.

     

  • You can download Google Authenticator from the App Store, Google Play or as an extension on your browser.
How to activate 2FA on your SageFX account:

  1. Click “Settings”

  2. Click “Enable 2FA via Authenticator App”

 

 

Once you have your authentication app downloaded, you can now scan the QR code on screen or enter the code shown to you on the app.

  1. Scan the QR code.

  2. Enter the code presented to you on the app screen inside the field in SageFX account.

  3. Click “Submit”

 

 

Two-Factor Authentication is now enabled and will be available when you next sign in to your account. If you are having an issue scanning the QR code please click the “Unable to scan?” link and enter the code on the screen.
